Have you ever hired a company to remodel your bathroom? Who in Grand Junction would you recommend?

I have two bathrooms, neither of which have been redone in 40 years. Both need a tremendous amount of work. I'm asking for your help in getting me pointed in the right direction.

Here's the situation.

I have two bathrooms in my 40-year-old house. Both are exactly as they were 40 years ago... and they look like it.

To give you an idea as to the severity of the situation, my master bathroom is a combination of pink and purple. Yes, you heard me right, pink and purple. To put that in perspective, I'm a 50-year-old male with a bathroom that looks like something belonging to either Barbie or those "Hello Kitty" things.

The only thing not pink or purple would be the tile work in the walk-in shower. To give you an idea how bad that is, I did the tile work myself back in the early 1980s. For the record, I was born in 1970. In all fairness, I didn't do too bad a job.

How about the floor?

Oh, that's the best part. This is where the purple comes in. Yes, my bathroom floor boasts an amazing purple flower pattern. The original patter, complimented by dozens of cigarette burns in the linoleum, makes for a festive design. The sub-floor is another story. It's hard to tell without seeing it, but I'm pretty sure it will need to be torn up.

What about the walls?

Don't get me started on walls. They are a two-toned pink and purple abomination.

What about the other bathroom?

The other bathroom isn't half bad. The one problem involves the tub. Forty years ago we installed an antique claw-foot bathtub. It's really a nice piece. Unfortunately, that bathroom doesn't have a shower. Part of the intention behind my remodel involves the possibility I may one day have to sell this house. If this bathroom had a shower and a bath, the house would have two full bathrooms and a half-bath in the basement.

What's the big picture?

These bathrooms need major remodels. I stopped by one Grand Junction tile dealer today and couldn't believe how much tile has changed over the years. Do you remember when there used to be "tile." You pretty much had a choice between a few dozen colors and patters.

After today's visit, I learned tiles come in countless sizes, textures, and styles. Some tiles are made to look like wood. Please note, I did say tile. I'm not talking about laminate. The possibility has been presented that the shower, or even an entire bathroom, can be done in a tile that looks very much like wood.

Who do you recommend?

In situations such as this, I always turn to you. You've never pointed me in the wrong direction. Based on your experiences, who does the best bathroom remodeling work in Grand Junction? In a perfect world, it would be awesome if one company could handle tile, fixtures, and painting, all in one shot.

The list below originated from Google. It's entirely possible someone has been missed. If so, please enter their name on the poll.

So that you can experience my situation firsthand, I created the poll using purple and pink. Do you see what I'm dealing with?
