Eagle Scout is the highest rank of the Boy Scouts and a troop of Grand Junction Scouts proved they're well on their way to that honor by living up to the Scout law, "A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent."The group of Scouts I'm talking about helped us at last Saturday's (May 18) 'World's Greatest Yard Sale.' They spent the day answering questions, assisting shoppers with their purchases and even cleaned up at the end of the day. This, in spite of several rounds of hail and rain.

The thing I'm most proud of is the Scouts finding and returning to their rightful owners items including four purses. One of those belonged to a person who had called me hoping someone had found her lost purse/wallet and would be honest enough to contact her.

"Trustworthy" is the first word in the Scout Law and I'm proud to say our group of Scouts obviously takes that and the rest of the Scouting Law to heart.

Kudos to these fine young men.
