Several Grand Junction area bands and businesses pooled their recources Saturday to show their support for Zolopht. By now you've heard about the local band whose equipment was stolen during a concert stop in Texas. Local bands, businesses, and residents, stepped up to the plate to raise funds to replace the band's stolen gear.

Roasted, the coffee house at 5th and Colorado Avenue in downtown Grand Junction, hosted the kickoff portion of Saturday's all-day fundraiser. A handful of area bands came together to perform outside the venue. Organizers hosted a silent auction while those in attendance dropped donations in a tip jar. Roasted donated a portion of the day's sales to the fundraiser.

As of noon on Saturday, only a couple of hours into the event, organizers announced they had already raised over $8,000.00 for the cause (check out video). Total losses suffered by the band Zolopht equalled $24,000.00.

Following the first leg of the event, performers picked up and moved about half a block down 5th Street to Sabrosa. From this location, performers continued with the fundraising effort through 1 a.m.

Kudos to Grand Junction's bands, to both Roasted and Sabrosa, and of course all those who attended, for participating in this fundraiser. Stolen gear can't slow down a Grand Junction band. Thanks to the valley's support, Zolopth hasn't missed a beat.
