Early Morning Shenanigans

As you can see, the person is not only trespassing at 4 a.m., but they are walking onto the porch, to the front door, and then going through the mailbox. Fortunately, in this instance, the mailbox was empty.

This Person Looks to be Surprisingly Young

We have no information to offer regarding the suspect. At a glance, though, the person looks to be fairly young. To my eyes, this person appears to be female and a teenager at best.

Between the hoodie and the mask, it's safe to say this person set out this morning with the intent of stealing mail but to do it without being recognized. In other words, a premeditated crime.

Penalty for Stealing Mail in the State of Colorado

According to the website shazamlaw.com (seriously, the attorney's name is Shazam... Shazam Kianpour & Associates, P.C.) -

Whether you are in Colorado or any other state, mail theft is a very serious crime. Since the United States Postal Service and the Postmaster General are federal entities, your case will be heard in federal court. This means the penalties for a conviction can be much more harsh than if your case was heard in state court.

This Just Happened in Downtown Grand Junction
