Another big name within the Denver Broncos organization has announced that they are stepping away from their job.

It seems like just yesterday that when you mentioned the Denver Broncos, you mentioned three men: Pat Bowlen, John Elway and Joe Ellis. A.K.A: The Owner, The Legend and The Guy Who Got Things Done.

'Mr. B' passed away in June of 2019, leaving ownership of the team in a quagmire of legal wrangling; John Elway just recently stepped away from his position as General Manager of the team, and now the Broncos' president/CEO has announced his upcoming departure.

According to 9News, Ellis will not be renewing his contract after it expires at the end of the 2021 season.

Joe Ellis has been with the Broncos for over 25 years, starting in the marketing department in 1983. He's been president of the team since 2014 and CEO since 2019.

Though he's worked mostly with the Denver Broncos, Ellis has also worked with the NFL itself and was a key player in bringing the new Cleveland Browns back into the league in 1999. This was after the original Browns snuck out in the middle of the night in November of 1995 to become the Baltimore Ravens, in a classic NFL story called 'The Move.'

In 2014, Ellis saw to it that fans had a great game-day experience when at Empower Field at Mile High; part of the renovations he oversaw was bringing in that great scoreboard that was three times larger than the previous one.

Joe's will be a name that will be missed, much like that of 'Mr. B's.
