A man who found a wallet decided the saying 'finders keepers, losers weepers' meant he should keep the wallet and make fraudulent purchases with the credit cards inside.

What this dishonest scumbag obviously didn't learn was the saying is for one, a childish tease and two, in real life, means what is found has been abandoned or intentionally discarded, which doesn't apply in this case.

To make this even more incredulous, the wallet was lost by an older man which this criminal would have known since the owner's driver's license and other personal information was inside. So much for respecting your elders.

The wallet was lost on Wednesday, October 19. The thief went shopping with one of the credit cards in the wallet at the Smoker Friendly store at 569 32 Road. Additional fraudulent purchases in excess of $500 total were also made at businesses in Collbran.

The suspect is a white male between 20 and 30 years old and is about 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 11-inches tall. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie.

If you have seen, or know the identity of the suspect, make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 970-241-7867. If the information leads to an arrest, you'll be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Anonymous reports can also be made via the Crime Stoppers of Mesa County website.
