Thieves Use Credit Cards in Wallet Stolen from Golf Bag to Shop at Grand Junction Stores
Golf games can have some friendly wagers, but a golfer ended losing more than a friendly bet when someone stole his wallet out of his golf bag.
The theft happened on Thursday (July 13) at Bookcliff Country Club, 2730 G Road.
Credit cards from the stolen wallet were used by one of the suspects to fraudulently purchase items from Best Buy, Target, and Cabela's.
Security cameras at Cabela's show the suspect is a white male in his late teens or early 20's. He was wearing shorts and a pink Under Armour shirt.
Another card was used by a second suspect to buy food at Freddy's Streakburgers drive-thru. The restaurant was able to provide police a photo of the vehicle the suspect was driving.
If you know the names of the suspects or their whereabouts, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers of Mesa County at 970-241-7867 or through the Crime Stoppers website.
All reports are completely anonymous and if the information leads to an arrest, the person providing the information is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 without revealing their identity.
