Colorado State Patrol Cars Now Equipped With Comfort and Assist Bags
The new year has brought something new to the Colorado State Patrol troop in Fruita. Each CSP car is now equipped with comfort and assist bags.
According to Trooper Dan Chermok, the bags will be given to motorists in need on motorist or pedestrian assist stops, and people involved in accidents.
The winter bag contains a variety of items including a Mylar blanket, socks, water, snacks, band-aids, ice scraper, safety whistle and a resource sheet.
Chermok says the bags are the result of the efforts of Community Hospital, Family Health West, Cabela's, Grand Junction Police Department, and the Clifton Christian Church Food Bank.
If the bags are well received, Chermok says the bags will continue in the summer with slightly different content. The bags will provide a nice gesture of goodwill from the law enforcement agency.
