It’s been a good week for Colorado Mesa sports – and for the Mavericks players.

Earlier this week, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced that CMU senior Melissa Hess was named volleyball’s Offensive Player of the Week. And, junior DJ Hubbard was named football’s Special Teams Player of the Week.

Now, the RMAC announced recent honors in the field of men’s soccer, which includes a CMU player. Colorado Mesa defender Blake Carlson earned the first RMAC Defensive Player of the Week award.

Carlson helped the Mavericks to a 1-1 record in the team’s opening weekend. This coming weekend, the Mavericks will travel to Billings, Montana for a pair of matches against San Francisco State and Montana State-Billings.
