Colorado's annual Free Fishing Weekend is June 2 and 3.

Across the country, state conservation and wildlife agencies are rolling out their annual Free Fishing Weekends. Most coincide with the National Fishing and Boating Week which runs this year from June 2 through the 10. Most states offer free fishing days. On those days, you can fish public bodies of water without a fishing license.

Fishing is a great family activity. The free fishing weekend is the perfect opportunity for anyone, or the family, to try fishing for the first time. It’s also a great opportunity for anyone with a license to bring a friend or family member and introduce them to the sport.

Colorado Parks & Wildlife reminds everyone too that although a license is not required on Free Fishing Weekend, all other rules and regulations do apply. Be sure and check the Colorado Fishing Brochure for specific regulations and restrictions.

If you are thinking about fishing more than the free weekend, a fishing license is a great investment. All the revenue goes back into conservation and providing access to public waters. You can purchase one at any of the Colorado Parks & Wildlife offices or from one of the more than 600 license agents across the state. Licenses can also be purchased online by clicking HERE. You can also purchase a fishing license over the phone by calling 1-800-244-5613. Good luck and Happy Free Fishing day!
