Cameron Peak Fire Destroys Historic Northern Colorado Home
For 135 years, the Pinehurst home stood in the Poudre Canyon, serving as a steadfast tribute to Northern Colorado's history.
But on Monday (September 7), the Cameron Peak Fire burned the historic property to the ground.
According to The Coloradoan, the home's owners, Sue and Rob Schneider, are absolutely devastated by the loss.
The family confirmed to the publication that the fire destroyed every part of the property. Thankfully, they were able to retrieve valuable belongings from the home on Saturday (September 5).
While the Schneiders reside in Loveland, the Pinehurst home has provided them with generations of fond memories.
Sue's family has owned the property, which a man named John D. Cooper established in 1895, since 1893. Although the residence is part of a family trust, Sue believes that everyone will want to rebuild on the site once the fires subside.
