In an effort to combat the coronavirus, many banks and lending institutions are scaling back services until the threat has ended.

Many banks will now only offer drive-up or on-line banking, choosing to close their lobby to keep their customers safe.

Many banks across the country are scaling back operations in order to keep themselves and their customers safe from exposure to the coronavirus. For some banks, that means limiting the lobby access while others are keeping those public areas as clean as possible to make sure the virus doesn't spread.

In Grand Junction, several banks that were contacted said they are limiting lobby access and are encouraging their customers to utilize on-line banking or if a trip to the bank is necessary to use the drive-through service.

Bank of the West has said their lobby is open, as is Bank of Colorado, Alpine Bank, and  Grand Valley Bank. Wells Fargo's lobby is open as well.

Most local banks have a COVID-19 advisory on their websites, so check with them before you go out. And if you absolutely do not have to go to the bank, utilize the other options available to you.

Stay healthy, Colorado!
