Authorities Searching for Colorado National Monument Vandals
Authorities are searching for those responsible for vandalizing the Colorado National Monument with spray paint.
On Saturday (June 9) National Park Service employees posted pictures of rocks within the Monument that had been spray painted with messages shown.
If you have information about this vandalism or any other illegal activities within the Colorado National Monument, you can contact staff at the visitors center in person or by calling 970-858-3617.
Federal Regulations prohibit defacing or destroying property in a National Park or Monument. Penalties include a fine, prison or both. The regulations also allow the Park Service to require reimbursement of all costs associated with the case. Let's hope the person or persons responsible are caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
