We’re coming up on the weekend again, which means time again to list what events are coming up for the weekend:

Friday, August 16

  • Palisade Peach Festival, taking place throughout the day in Palisade
  • Center for Independence will hold a Community Yard Sale from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Center, 740 Gunnison Avenue in Grand Junction. The yard sale will benefit the Center for Independence and Grand Valley Peace & Justice.
  • Glade Park Movies Under the Stars will present the PG movie Rio at the Glade Park Fire Department (west of the Glade Park Store on DS Road). Concession stand opens at 5:30 p.m., grill opens at 6:00 p.m., live entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m. and movie starts at dusk.
  • The Museum of Western Colorado will present a Downtown Walking Tour with the Museum of the West. The tour begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Museum of the West (462 Ute Avenue in Grand Junction. Cost is $5 per person.
  • The Riverfront Concert Series will present Poco in concert at the James M. Robb Colorado Riverfront State Park in Fruita. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are free with a $2.50 processing fee and are available at all City Market stores. For more information, call 683-4333.
  • Colorado Mesa University's Theater Department will present an encore of the comical play Complete History of America at 7:30 p.m. at the Moss Performing Arts Center, 1100 North Avenue in Grand Junction. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $6 for students. For more information, call 248-1604.

Saturday, August 17

  • Palisade Peach Festival, taking place throughout the day in Palisade

  • The Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra will present an outdoor Rockestra at 8:00 p.m. at the Colorado Mesa University Quad (12th Street and North Avenue in Grand Junction). The concert is free and open to the public.

Sunday, August 18

  • Palisade Peach Festival, taking place throughout the day in Palisade
  • Palisade Sunday Market will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Downtown Palisade. This weekend’s Palisade Sunday Market will be in conjunction with the Palisade Peach Market.
  • Grand Junction Centennial Band will perform in concert as part of the Evening Under the Stars series. The concert will be at 6:00 p.m. at Lincoln Park.
