Much of Western Colorado encountered snow this week, but that doesn't mean it's time to put away the motorcycle.

With the arrival of colder temperatures and snow, it might be tempting for motorcycle enthusiasts to put away their bike for the winter, bu there's at least one good reason for keeping it out a while longer - and that is the Harley Toy Run.

The 36th annual Toy Run to benefit the Salvation Army will be held on Saturday, December 5. This year the after party fun will be held at Allen Unique Autos and will include food, drinks, and door prizes.

While the toy run is put on by the Western Slope Harley Owner Group, the event is open to all brands of motorcycles. The entry fee for the event is simply a new, unwrapped toy.

The toys collected on the drive will be donated to the Salvation Army, which will get them into the hands of disadvantaged children and families in need.

So, if you have a motorcycle, dress warm and plan to participate in this year's toy run - and then put the bike away for the winter.
