When I first heard about kids getting SPUNK'd I thought it would be great fun to go out and play harmless practical jokes on unsuspecting children so I said sure, sign me up!Then, I found out S.P.U.N.K. was an acronym for Socks, Pajamas, Underwear for Needing Kids. Needless to say, I was even more excited about SPUNKING kids after hearing that's what it really meant.

The campaign is the brainchild of Grand Junction resident Gretchen Haynes, who through her contact with agencies that work with children, found a real need for new, essential clothing items like undergarments and pajamas. The campaign runs through December 15th and those interested in donating can drop off donations at KOOL 107.9,  D&G Autocare or call 243-3404 for other drop-off locations.

The SPUNK. donations are distributed through Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, Mesa County Foster Care, Latimer House, and School District 51's REACH program.
