Rod Stewart Is One Of The ‘Dullest Men Of The Year’

I was totally shocked to hear Rod Stewart has been selected as one of the dullest men of the year. Sure, the singer isn't quite as flamboyant as he was in his younger years. Let's face it, none of us can do what we used to do when we were younger. So, why was Rod selected as one of the dullest men of the year?According to the Dull Men's Club, one of the primary reasons is his hobby, model trains and apparently he's very serious about it. There are stories that when he's on the road he rents out entire hotel rooms just to set-up and run model trains. Rod also has the entire third floor, (about 1,500 square feet), of his Beverly Hills home dedicated to a city of HO scale model trains. He told Model Railroader magazine "I’m proud to be a railway modeler.  It means more to me to be on the cover of Model Railroader than to be on the cover of a music magazine."

Personally, I see nothing boring with model trains. It's a fascinating hobby that requires a lot of time, patience and knowledge. In my mind, I see this pursuit as a wonderful combination of both science and art. I think brilliant is a much better than boring when describing Rod's passion for model trains.
