Partners TV Auction Puts Radio Jocks On the Spot For a Good Cause

The annual Partners TV Auction is coming up this Friday night on KJCT 8. Again this year, Ed Chandler and I will participate as guest auctioneers from 8pm-11pm, along with Mackenzie Dodge from our sister station KEKB. If you tune in, you will quickly understand why we are in radio. It's not that we are butt-ugly or anything like that, we simply are not all that comfortable in front of the lights and the cameras. Because of our radio experience we are able to function at the very least competently and adequately enough to get the job done. However, it's not about us. It's about the great merchandise that is up for bids and the great organization that benefits from the auction.This is the 29th television auction that Partners of Mesa County has done. It is one of a handful of fundraisers conducted each year by Partners to fund their one-on-one mentoring program as well as other programs they feature like their Restitution/Community Service Work Program. You can view the auction from 6pm-11pm on KJCT 8.

The auction moves along pretty quickly as the items change every 15 minutes which means about 100 items are sold each hour. The items are described by the guest auctioneers, and many are displayed on the screen. If you see something you are interested in, you just call the number on the screen, and keep bidding until that table of items closes. Auctions are so much fun anyway, and this one is cool because you can do it from the comfort of your home.

In addition to the television auction on Friday night, Partners will host a LIVE auction on Saturday at the Partners building at 11th and Colorado. Both auctions feature items from local businesses, overnight stays, autographed memorabilia, and much more.
