Hot Summer Nights Car Show in Grand Junction Sizzles
The Western Colorado Summer is filled with car shows, and KOOL 107.9 was privileged to be a part of a really cool car show this past weekend. Allen Unique Autos held their third annual Hot Summer Night Car Show and it was a great event with over 100 classic cars and motorcycles on display, a great live band, and the unveiling of the newest addition to the Tammy Allen collection. I got the fun part of doing a live broadcast, and KOOL 107.9's Ed Chandler emceed the event, which was attended by scores of people.
As always there was a great collection of classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and they had a category for "special interest or oddball" car. There was even a retro boat on display- and it was for sale.
Retro-Spectacle, a band out of Denver, did an outstanding job of entertaining car show attendees with a great mix of easy-to-listen-to, but not easy listening music. This was good stuff!
And the newest addition to the Tammy Allen collection was unveiled - a 1969 Ford pick up, converted into a Good Humor Ice Cream truck. They even passed out free ice cream out of the truck after the unveiling.
There are still more car shows to come in Western Colorado. Here's at least a partial list of car shows coming up.
