Giving Gifts to Strangers Makes Everybody’s Christmas Better

We all love to give presents to our friends and family members, and there is great joy in that. But, it's possible that giving gifts to strangers could bring even greater joy.The Salvation Army makes this joy possible for a lot of us through the toy and food drive they conduct each holiday season. Usually, you have no idea who the benefactor is, but,  yet, there is a real feeling of satisfaction that comes from donating items to the Salvation Army.

Giving gifts to strangers is the ultimate in gift giving, because the presenter clearly expects nothing in return, and most often is done completely anonymously.

KOOL 107.9 has been a lead sponsor of the Salvation Army's toy drive for eight years because we believe in the work that the Salvation Army does - not just during the holidays, but through out the entire year.

For those that want it to be a little more personal, the giving trees provide such an opportunity. You simply go to a Giving Tree location, pull a tag or two from the tree, and you shop specifically for that individual. You'll know the exact age and size you are shopping for.

We are grateful for the many partners that join us each year to help facilitate the toy drive. Without these partners, and without people like you who are willing to offer a gift to someone you don't even know, Christmas would be an extremely sad time for many families in Mesa County. When you  donate to the Salvation Army, you are making Christmas better not only for those families in need, but for yourself as well. There is joy in giving.
