CMU Athletes Host Charity Softball Game To Feed Mesa County’s Hungry Children
What do you get when you cross a softball team with a wresting team? The answer is well- fed children in Mesa County.
The ‘Kids Aid Backpack” charity softball game is taking place tonight after being rained out a week ago. This annual event pits the CMU softball team against the CMU wrestlers at 6:00 at CMU’s Bergman Field.
Come out and support two great teams for a GREAT cause! Kids Aid is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing for the needs of children, with a primary focus on supplying food to hungry kids. In collaboration with Mesa County School District 51, the Backpack Program sends food donations home with children who otherwise would go hungry over the weekend. Learn more about the program at http://www.kidsaidcolorado.org/index.html.
