A few years ago our family switched from margarine to butter after learning the trans-fat in some margarine may be worse for your health than the natural fat in butter. Now that companies are reducing the amount of trans-fat in products, is butter or margarine the better choice?

Apparently, it depends. Health benefits aside, I did a quick a survey around the office and found our staff's preference really depends on what the butter or margarine is being used for. Some people say certain recipes work better or taste better with margarine while others say butter is the clear choice.
