If a homeless person approached you, your first reaction would be they are going to ask for money. How would you react if they offered to give you money instead?

This social experiment created just that scenario and the results were quite surprising. The 'homeless' person in this video held a cardboard sign that said, "No one has ever become poor from giving." With that sign in hand he offered to give people money.

It's no surprise people rejected the money. But the reasons for the rejections were shocking.

It would appear in almost every case, the perception of the person offering the money was significantly more important that the completely altruistic reason the offer was being made.

The video ends in a confrontation with a man who's so caught up in himself and his personal 'self worth,' he completely misses the point even after an attempt at an explanation.

The caption at the end of the video conveys an incredible message. That caption, "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less," sums it up quite well.
