I can promise you that most people didn't expect this question to be asked in 2020 but here we are. There is an online push right now as some people are saying it's time to replace 'The Star-Spangled Banner' as our National Anthem with something new.

Just a little background information, before 'The Star-Spangled Banner', was made our National Anthem it was a poem called the Defense of Fort M'Henry. In 1931 was when it was made into our National Anthem.

As we all know there have been statues and monuments removed around the country if they have any ties to slavery. And the author of 'The Star-Spangled Banner', Francis Scott Key was an owner of slaves and defended slaveholders' rights, according to The Smithsonian.

This past week there was an article written on Yahoo Music called: 'Why it might be time to finally replaced 'The Star-Spangled Banner' with a new national anthem'. This article has gained lots of attention and created a conversation around replacing our National Anthem.

At this point, I don't believe there have been any recommendations as to what could or possibly would replace 'The Star-Spangled Banner' as our National Anthem. It's going to be interesting to see if there is a change made in the near future and what kind of process that would look like if our U.S. Government has any interest in making the switch.

What do you think, would you like to see a new National Anthem for the United States of America or do you like what we currently have in place and would like to see our current anthem stay in place?
