Tim Borden, a local Steamboat Springs fireworks enthusiast took the challenge of building the largest single firework ever made. To do so, he had to become mayor of what was essentially a ghost town, then made his friend Sheriff and applied for a fireworks permit.

An awful long way to go just to set off a firework, but boy what a firework!

It weighed in at a robust 1,201 pounds and when you see it and hear it go off, you will feel the pride well up inside you as you realize that, yes, Colorado does have the biggest. The Baddest. The loudest firework ever made.

Built by friends in Steamboat Springs this one firework has the same amount of explosive firepower as an entire fireworks show.

Imagine the explosion.
