Before you think this may be a revival of the original 1969 festival at Yasgur's field in New York, read the headline again.

This festival isn't for the hippies or the birds. It's an event for dogs and their owners to help raise money for the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Woofstock will be held on April 16 at the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens.

The event starts at 7:30 a.m. with dog owners invited to take their dogs for a walk along the Riverfront Trail beginning at the Botanical Gardens Trailhead at 7:30 a.m.

Gates for Woofstock open at 11:00 a.m. with music starting at noon and ending at 5:00 p.m. Featured acts include The Instagators, Flat Top Reed and JACK+JILL.

People who are walking their dogs during this event are asked to download and use the 'Wooftrax' app to help raise money for the Roice-Hurst Humane Society. Participants can also get information on the best places to walk their dogs.

Food and water will be available at the concert and well behaved dogs can attend with their owners following the walk. There will also be activities available for kids.
