Did you catch the 2018 Mesa County Partners live TV Auction last Friday night on KJCT? Did you notice the hosts kept breaking out with laughter for no apparent reason?

Several Grand Junction area radio jocks volunteered last Friday night (September 7) to host the 2018 live televised auction. The broadcast ran from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring donated merchandise and services from several local businesses.

For some reason, from time to time, you probably noticed the "auctioneers" breaking out with laughter. What was going on?

Check out the video. I filmed this moments before we went live on TV. Do you see those two ladies at left and center? This went on all night. No one was safe. The gentlemen at right, while not completely innocent, was fairly well behaved. He was preoccupied with operating the bubble machine.

All of this happened off camera. Oh, trust me, the shooting continued even when we were live on the air. At those times, though, the ladies were aiming low and shooting at our legs. You never saw that part on camera.

By the way, this wasn't the first year where these kinds of shenanigans took place. The same thing happened last year. Those Nerf darts, while ultimately harmless, do pack a punch.

Thank you to everyone who supported Partners with your online bids. The jocks, namely Ed Chandler, Ray Michaels, Alicia Selin, and myself, always look forward to this awesome event.
