Who was the guy with the thunderous voice who you hear singing the National Anthem at Grand Junction Rockies games? You've probably heard him before at other sporting events, air shows, and festivals. What's his name?

His name is John Hendricks. John is a Western Slope resident, spending most of his time in the Rifle area. He's performed the National Anthem at Pork and Hops for the last few years. You've also heard him at the Grand Junction air shows, Country Jam, various rodeos, and several past sporting events.

John recently recorded his album, "For God and Country" at Western Colorado's Aspen Leaf Recording studio. Copies of his album are available for purchase at the typical online stores including Amazon.com and CDBaby.

Here's John performing the National Anthem at Pork and Hops a few years ago.

John will perform the National Anthem at these upcoming Western Colorado events:

  • July 12 - Rockies night game
  • July 27 - Eagle County Fair and Rodeo 80th Anniversary - Patriotic night
  • August 2 - Trace Adkins concert at the Garfield County Fair and Rodeo grounds
  • August 31 - Rockies night game
  • September 1 - Rockies night game

John lives to sing the National Anthem. Sure, he sings other patriotic and spiritual songs, too. The anthem, however, is his passion. Be on the lookout for any opportunity to hear this man sing. It's a safe bet he's coming to a festival or sporting event near you.
