It's a question that will be on the minds of football fans from now until the snow flies - and beyond - who is going to win the 2016 Super Bowl. It's time for the annual Zane Mathews Super Bowl Prediction.

Before we get to this year's prediction, it may be worth noting that in a recent poll by swapalease.com, the majority of men picked the Green Bay Packers to capture the Vince Lombardi Trophy, while most women said it would be the New England Patriots.

The same poll also seems to indicate that the Dallas Cowboys may have lost their standing as "America's Team."  The survey has the New York Giants at #1, the Patriots at #2, and the Cowboys coming in as the nation's third favorite team. (By the way, the Denver Broncos didn't show in the top 10, not that we should be surprised by that.)

My track record for Super Bowl predictions isn't great with just two correct picks in 41 years. Last year, I had the Patriots and the Seahawks, but both Teddy Bear the Porcupine and I  incorrectly picked the Seahawks to win.

The Patriots and Seahawks both look like they have what it takes to make a Super Bowl rematch from a year ago. In the NFC, Detroit and Green Bay are both going to make a run, but I see the Lions making it to the NFC Championship Game against the Cowboys, as the Seahawks falter. The Saints and Eagles should also make the playoffs.

In the AFC, things are pretty wide open. The Chiefs, Chargers, and Dolphins will be better - the Patriots will be good, but it's going to be the Ravens, Colts, and Broncos who rise to the top. I like the Broncos to beat the Colts in the championship game. Nobody is talking about Denver right now because they don't look very good. But, they will be better in November and December.

Here it is.....on February 7, 2016, Peyton Manning wins the final game of his Hall of Fame career as the Broncos beat the Cowboys.
PREDICTION: Denver 31 Dallas 24
