It seems to be common sense, but since it apparently isn't that way for everyone, we'll go ahead and say it. If you need your air conditioner repaired, don't call 9-1-1.

There are different kinds of emergencies where you'll need to dial 9-1-1, whether it be health reasons, an accident, an intruder, or any number of possibilities calling because your air conditioner broke isn't one of them.

The Denver Post reports a Pennsylvania man called 9-1-1 complaining of chest pains, but when medics arrived he confessed he had no health problem he just needed help fixing his air conditioner.

Apparently this isn't the first time the guy has made a false 9-1-1 call.

State police say he's called their office 63 times in the last three years for minor and harassing complaints. He was warned in December to stop making the calls, but after this past weekend's incident, the 26 year-old-man was charged with obstructing emergency services and disorderly conduct.

Like I said earlier, it seems to be common sense, but just in case it's not registering with anybody, here it is in black and white. If you need your air conditioner serviced call one of our local experts don't call 9-1-1.
