Volunteers Needed For Flood Preparation in Lake City

It's one of our favorite places in Colorado and it needs our help.

With all of the snowpack we have in Colorado, it's only a matter of time before it melts and the runoff begins.

And that's where we come in.

Lake City, who pride themselves on being one of the most remote areas of the state are facing the possibility of flooding and your help is needed to fill sandbags to help get ready.

The Lake Fork of the Gunnison River runs right through Lake City and with so much snow in the upper elevations, residents and town leaders are being proactive in their preparation for it.

If you are at least 18 and can repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds, and you don't mind driving a bit to help, Lake City could sure use it.
