Yellowstone National Park is a great place to get a look at wildlife in their native environment. These tourists got more than they bargained for when they encounter a black bear and her cubs.

It appears some people are more concerned for their safety than others. Sure, it looks like the bears are confused and frightened by these onlookers in their path.

But, a sow, especially if she feels her cubs are being threatened, has the potential to do whatever necessary to protect her family.

While running away isn't the best idea, a cautious retreat is typically the best course of action to prevent an attack.

This is a good lesson for all of us as we tend to spend more time in the beautiful Colorado wilderness during the spring and summer months. A good outdoors person knows that wild is the first word in wildlife and wild can be very unpredictable.
