Three members of the Grand Junction Police Department were on hand at the Colorado State Capitol last Friday as Colorado joined other states in recognizing "National First Responders Appreciation Day."

Representing Grand Junction were Officer Cohn, Seargent Freidenberger, and Communications Center Manager Monica Million.

According to 9news.com, Senators passed a resolution to declare September 27 as "First Responders Appreciation Day."

The First Regular Session Seventieth General Assembly STATE OF COLORADO reads:

WHEREAS, Colorado joins the following states in designating September 27 as "First Responder Appreciation Day": Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming;
