Sports Authority at Mile High Gets New Name
The Denver Broncos will finally be able to play at a stadium with an actual name.
After Sports Authority closed their doors in 2016, the Denver Broncos have been playing at a stadium with no "true" name. That all changes this year.
The stadium will now be called the Broncos Stadium at Mile High -- this is only temporary. The team presented the temporary name to the Metropolitan Football Stadium District board, which represents the taxpayers of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties.
The Broncos bought the naming rights from Sports Authority in 2016 for a price tag of $19.9 million, which goes to repairs and renovations of the stadium.
