It's almost time for the Longest Day of the Year Wiener Dog Races in Grand Junction.

Take the shortest dogs and combine them with the longest day of the year, and you have yourself the cutest race of the year.

Western Colorado Wiener dog racers can sign up now with the Alzheimer's Association of Western Colorado for the races coming up on June 20. There will be a standard class, mini-class, and puppy class, along with a race for mixed wiener dogs. If you have never seen wiener dogs race, get ready for a tail-wagging, body- bouncing, ear-flapping good time!

The race will be held at Holy Family Catholic School at 786 26 1/2 Road in Grand Junction starting at 5:30 p.m. on June 20. You can register your wiener dog here. Or you can call 970-260-0699.

The event is a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association ahead of the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's on September 10. If you would like to form a team for the walk, or join the KOOL 107.9 team get signed up today.

The Alzheimer's Association provides services and support for those affected by Alzheimer's Disease as well as raises awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research.
