Russell Johnson, best known as the Professor on Gilligan's Island, died Thursday at the age of 89. That leaves only Dawn Wells and Tina Louise as  the remaining surviving castaways from the classic TV show.

Recently, Johnson talked about his favorite Gilligan's Island episodes saying he especially enjoyed the many dream sequences which allowed the actors the chance to so something a little different and get into another character. He specifically mentions the episode where he plays an old prospector in a dream sequence and tricks Mary Ann into kissing him.

In this interview, Johnson also mentions some of the many guest stars that appeared during the series' three-year run like Zsa Zsa Gabor, Don Rickles, and Phil Silvers.

Everybody has their favorite episodes of Gilligan's Island, and I certainly have mine. While the guest stars made things interesting,  personally, my favorite episodes are the ones that involve only the seven castaways.

One of my favorite episodes is  where the Howells mistakenly learn they aren't really married, and then get into a big fight and the castaways work to get them back together.

Some of my other favorite episodes are:

1) The Howell's adopt Gilligan

2) The castaways make a silent movie

3) Gilligan becomes a walking radio

4) Mary Ann gets amnesia

5)The castaways strike gold

What is your favorite episode of Gilligan's Island?
