If these dogs could talk, they'd tell you how adorable you are, especially if you take one of them home.

These three are all residents of the Roice-Hurst Humane Society and are treated well there. But, what they'd really like is a permanent home with caring and loving owners who will get the same in return from these canines.

Meet these three in person at Roice-Hurst, 368 28 Road, Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Aspen

    2-Year-Old Labrador Mix

Aspen is a spayed female who weighs just under 60 pounds.

She's trusting with adults and most dogs, but not so much with children, cats, and other small pets.

Aspen loves to play, go for walks and likes to be kept busy to satisfy her natural curiosity.

Like most humans, at the end of the day, she just wants to kick back and relax.

    Summer

    3-Year-Old Pit Bull

Summer is a spayed female who weighs 67 pounds.

Introduce her to your older children and family dog(s) and she'll probably want to be their friend. She's not a fan of cats, however.

Summer is a smart dog which makes her both clever and independent. She can sometimes be a bit stubborn like a small child, so good dog 'parenting' skills are useful.

The folks at Roice-Hurst can show you the basics and if you take her to dog training, that's even better. She loves to learn new things.

Summer likes people but isn't outgoing socially. That's ok because she can and wants to learn proper pet social etiquette.

    Rainey

    8-Year-Old Hound/Shepherd Mix

Rainey is a large (81 pound) spayed female. She's very cautious and fearful of children. Her dream home is a calm adult home, possibly with another dog but no cats.

She's old enough to just want a place to call home. Other than lots of love and good care, she doesn't really need much to keep her happy.

Rainey is keen on companionship and enjoys walks as well as quiet time. Just being around and part of a human family is her dream.
