Remembering WKRP’s Gordon Jump on His 84th Birthday [VIDEO]

You couldn't help but love WKRP's General Manager, Mr. Carlson, portrayed by the wonderful actor, Gordon Jump. Unfortunately, he left us back in 2003. Let's take a moment to look back at his wonderful career on his 84th birthday.

Of course, that's the role many of us remember him from. Interestingly, Jump really was from Ohio. His home town, however, was Dayton, not Cincinnati. Shortly before that role, many TV viewers knew him as the not-so-bright police chief Tinkler on the comedy "Soap."

Other roles for Jump included appearances on Green Acres, Get Smart, The Rockford Files, The Incredible Hulk,  Starsky and Hutch, Lou Grant, Kojak, and The Bionic Woman. Along the way, he appeared in a commercial or two. Check out this one for Shakey's Pizza.

Gordon Jump died at his home outside Los Angeles in 2003.
