Good news for bikers in the area. After years of preparation and work, Lower Little Salt Wash Trail in Fruita is ready for use. This Fruita walk and bike friendly trail avoids Highway 340.

This 10-foot wide concrete trail is the first connection for North and South Fruita that is non-vehicular. It stretches from the Fruita Community Center and ends close to James M. Robb Colorado River State Park. In the past, people had no choice but to take Highway 340 to get to the park if they were walking or biking, but now they have a safer alternative.

This project opened up other possibilities for trail connections in Fruita for bikers and walkers as well. Fruita's next project is to fund a new trail that stretches from the Little Salt Wash to Loma.
