You know him as  the trouble-making Eddie Haskell from Leave It To Beaver. Ken Osmond celebrates his 70th birthday, and here's what you don't know about the former-child star.

While Osmond took on a few small acting roles after 'Beaver' ended, because of being type-cast as Eddie Haskell, he soon gave up his acting career. He grew a mustache and joined the Los Angeles Police Department.  Three times he was wounded in the line of duty, and finally retired and earned a medical disability pension.

You might remember seeing Osmond on television in the 1980s on the short-lived series 'The New Adventures of Leave It To Beaver', which featured Barbara Billingsey, Tony Dow, Jerry Mathers, and Frank Bank from the original cast. His real life sons played his sons on the show, and later Osmond would appear in the full length Leave It To Beaver movie, playing the father of his character, Eddie Haskell.

There once was a rumor that Ken was actually rock singer Alice Cooper. In a  Rolling Stone interview Cooper once stated that he was  "Eddie Haskell" as a child. Some readers took his statement literally and the rumor was started.

Eddie Haskell was such a rascal, yet was able to portray himself to the Cleavers as the all-American boy, and every mother's dream child. Of course, we all know better. Here is smooth Eddie at work.
