It's one of the great annual traditions in Grand Junction, but it's not just about the pancakes.

I don't remember the last time I missed a pancake day, and I don't plan on missing this one.

I love pancakes and all that comes with it on this day including ham, eggs, juice, coffee, and milk. Let me just say, the pancakes are mighty delicious. But, it's not just about the pancakes.

The Kiwanis Club is one of the Grand Valley's outstanding civic organizations that do so much and give so much to the community. The funds raised on Pancake Day are what allows them to do so much good.

The Kiwanis Club has awarded nine scholarships to area students in 2019 for $2500 each. Last year the club awarded grants to the Rose Hill Hospitality House, Camp Hope, Special Olympics, Kids Aid, Hope West, Harmony Ranch Equestrian Center, and many many others.

This year's Kiwanis Pancake Day and Fun Fest is on Saturday, June 1 at Two Rivers Convention Center from 6am-2pm. Come early or come late. What's better than pancakes for lunch? And bring the entire family. There are activities for the kids, live entertainment, and a large silent auction that always has lots of great offerings. There's even going to be a pancake decorating station.

Sure, you'll go for the pancakes, but you will keep going - and giving - because you want to help the Kiwanis continue to do so much good in our community. You'll discover that Pancake Day really is much more than just delicious pancakes
