January Is an Odd Time For a Farmers Market
Farmers markets are very popular in western Colorado during the summer and fall months, so why not in the middle of winter?
That's what the folks in Montrose said and thought it made sense, so they did something about it. The result is the Montrose Farmers Market Indoor Winter Market.
The Montrose Farmers Market never really ended, as it continued with their Holiday Market through December. With the holidays behind us, it's time to look ahead to the new year,
The Montrose Farmers Market Indoor Winter Market will be open every other Saturday through April 27 beginning January 5.
What you will find is a selection of fresh fruit, veggies, greens, meats, eggs, baked goods, honey, specialty cheese, specialty candies, bath & body care, art, and some miscellaneous things as well.
You can shop the indoor winter market from 10am-1pm at the Centennial Meeting Room located at 421 South 1st Street and admission is free.
For those that thought you couldn't have a farmers market in the winter, the Montrose Farmers Market is living proof that it can and does exist.
