One such organization known as the National Mill Dog Rescue recently held an event complete with adoptable furry friends and has already set a date for the next gathering.
Colorado Dog Charity Holds Event to Raise Awareness
Located at 5335 JD Johnson Road in Peyton, Colorado, the National Mill Dog Rescue works tirelessly to "rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry."
This past Sunday, August 11, the organization held an event called Festival in the Bark to raise awareness of the organization and the services it provides.
This particular event had 24 dogs ready to be taken to their forever homes, as well as food trucks, live music, games, giveaways, and more.
The organization reportedly rescues over 300 dogs in need per year where their needs, which might include rehabilitation, grooming, special treatments from an in-house veterinarian, or any number of other types of care, are met.
This Colorado chapter of The National Mill Dog Rescue is already planning another event that will be called, "Barks, Boots and Bling 2024 Gala," slated to take place at the Flying W Ranch in Colorado Springs on October 19, 2024.
