These days, online shopping has become so popular that the need for drivers, warehouse employees, and facilities to accommodate the demand has never been higher.

Because of this, the largest online retailer, Amazon, is constantly expanding its operations and right on the heels of a distribution center opening up in Grand Junction earlier this year, it has just been announced that Western Colorado will be getting yet another brick-and-mortar Amazon facility just down the road in Montrose.

Where Will Montrose Colorado's New Amazon Facility Be Located?

According to the announcement that was released earlier this week, the new Amazon distribution facility will be located on a 7.7-acre piece of land near Montrose Regional Airport.

The land, which was purchased from the Montrose Economic Development Corporation for $2.18 million, is situated near Western Skyways and Cedar Creek on County Road and Creative Place.

What Kind of Jobs Will the Montrose Colorado Facility Bring?

While it is unclear as to how many jobs are to be created after the new facility is opened, the announcement does state that both part-time and full-time positions will be offered.

What Types of Services Will the Montrose Colorado Facility Provide?

The exact nature of the facility has yet to be announced, but it will likely be used for either fulfillment, sorting, or last-mile delivery, which is what the Grand Junction Amazon facility specializes in.
