Forbes.com says that more than 2500 hospitals are evaluated each year based on patient outcomes, best practices, value, and patient experience. Let's examine each Colorado hospital that made the Forbes list, and why each is worth paying attention to when deciding where to get care for your family in 2026.

How Forbes Rates Hospital Quality
Forbes’ Top Hospitals for 2026 list was built using 56 performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The rankings considered outcomes, best practices, value, and patient experience. These rankings placed the heaviest weight on patient outcomes like mortality rates, readmissions, and infections. After extensive statistical analysis, just 253 hospitals nationwide earned the impressive 5-star overall rating, and only eight of them are located in Colorado.
