How Many Coloradans Will Be Joining the New Target Boycott?
For many Coloradans going to Target on a regular basis is just a part of everyday life. Now, with many giving up things they love for Lent, will we be giving up going to our local Target?
Nationwide Boycott of Target March 5 Through April 14, 2025
Sure, there will be some that say, "I never go there, anyway," but there will also be others that say, "This boycott is ridiculous, I'm on my way there, now."
One of the nation's most popular retailers, Target has over 40 Colorado locations.
Target can be a great place for not only scoring some good deals on clothes and household items, but for people watching too. You just kind of walk around with your red cart taking it all in for a little entertainment.

If you hadn't heard, there is a boycott of all Targets going on during the same timeframe of Lent, as it was organized by a megachurch pastor in Atlanta, Georgia. It all comes down to President Trump's anti-DEI (diversity, equality, inclusion) directives, and how Target started backing away from their own pro-DEI initiatives.

According to CNN, it's a very big deal to fans of Target, that they are getting rid of their DEI initiatives, which had been very pro-DEI, going further than other big companies had.
The question is: How many of us Coloradans will be boycotting Target stores across the state in protest of Target abandoning its DEI initiatives, if only for 40 days?
