Downtown Fort Collins Bar And Restaurant Abruptly Closes For Good
A new year and another farewell from a well-liked food and drink establishment in Northern Colorado. This time, in downtown Fort Collins and nobody really saw this one coming.
A 4.5 star rating on Google wasn't enough to save the burger-centric, sports bar vibe on Laurel St., a block west of South College Ave., in a location that has long had trouble keeping a tenant, according to some of the commenters on social media.
The Back Door Grill opened up at 130 Laurel St. back in 2021, a second location for the spot, spun off from its original location in Steamboat Springs, which will remain open. The restaurant boasted a robust burger menu, in addition to a pretty great sports bar atmosphere downstairs and a rooftop patio with a full bar upstairs.
On Sunday, their followers on social media were greeted with a "Last Day Open" message, and the announcement which read:
Thank You to all of our Fort Collins Patrons and Staff who have supported us through the years, we have appreciated your business dearly, but unfortunately today is our last day open.Cheers and Thank You Again.
The good news, however, is that they offered a full refund of any unused gift cards purchased before they closed their doors, and anyone holding a gift card can email them at Accounting@eliason.group to get that process started.
