Everyone in Colorado loves the Denver Broncos the NFL's Denver franchise; how many people know about the WNFC and the Denver Bandits?

Colorado has had this team to route on since 2019, a team made up of women ready to tackle and take on the world. The Denver Bandits. Six game seasons, followed by the playoffs, and hopefully for the Bandits, the Cup Championship Game.

With the Broncos being so popular in Colorado, it does make sense to have a women's tackle football team in town. The Denver Bandits were one of the Women's National Football Conference's (WNFC) initial teams, when the conference launched in 2018.

The WNFC is not to be confused with Mike Ditka's women's tackle football league, the Extreme Football League (X League,) which is a re-brand of the Lingerie Football League. The X league is 7-on-7 and play on only a 50-yard-length field. The Bandits and WNFC teams all play on full-length fields, with full 11 players on the field.

While the X League's Denver Rush's last game was in 2022, the Denver Bandits have had full seasons since 2021; The team's best season, thus far, being in 2022 when they went 7-1 overall.

The WNFC's Mission:

 ...to accelerate equity in sports for women and girls through the power of football.

The Conference and the team owners are working to change the narrative of women's football, but (according to their site,) there are a lot of steps they need to take before they become a "professional" league.

Who is the Head Coach for the Denver Bandits

As of April 2025, Martin Jones is the Head Coach of the Bandits. He played Defensive Back and Kick Return for the UNC Bears when they were the Division II National Champions.

Simpson also spent a year with the New York Jets, played Semi-Pro football for six years, and became the Bandits' Defensive Backs Coach in 2022.
