Don't go thinking we're done with the cold and potential snow storms in Colorado just yet. Every year this starts to happen around this time of year, where summer peeks its head into the state and teases us, making us believe winter is over. It's not!

But this week we're going to get a preview all across the state with potentially record breaking temperatures as the forecast is for temps in the upper 80s by the time we see this weekend.

Officially across Northern Colorado, we're looking for 83 tomorrow (March 18), a little higher Thursday and Friday, before topping out somewhere around 88-89 degrees on Saturday.

Sunday we learn to stay humble as the high will only by about 60 degrees before climbing over the course of next week as well.

I vividly remember one year where I jumped in my Jeep with the top off, on a particularly nice day, probably even wearing flip flops only to absolutely freeze myself to death driving home that night - a reminder of the "dress in layers" credo you need to follow in Colorado this time of year.

If the really nice weather in the coming week makes you believe winter is over... think again. It is not. We may shatter heat records this week, but let's not forget that two of the top five largest snowstorms in Colorado history happened in March and April.

Anyone remember St. Patrick's Day in 2003? I sure do. I slept on the floor of the radio station for three nights - having to get up multiple times each night to brush snow off satellite dishes on the roof - and had to walk home on day four because there was four foot snow drifts on my street.

So stay humble, friends. It may be nice this week, but we're not out of the woods yet!
