
Colorado Ranked High in Education, But Few Top High Schools Make List
Did you know that the state of Colorado is ranked number two nationally for educational attainment by U.S. News and World Report? Out of the 5.9 million residents in the state, approximately 54.6 percent have a formal college education.
Overall, Colorado ranks third in education across the board. So that must mean Colorado has excellent high schools, right? Well, not exactly.
Only One Colorado High School in Top 100
According to the newest rankings from U.S. News and World Report for the best high schools in the United States, we would assume that we would see at least a few of these schools showing up in the top 100 in the nation.

Sadly, there were not many high schools that made the list. Only one Colorado high school made the top 100 list. This high school is located in the R-1 district of Jefferson County. Ranking 53rd nationally, D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School is the sole high school representing Colorado in the top 100.

D'Evelyn's graduation rate is very impressive at 97 percent. However, it is the college readiness that makes this Colorado high school really stand above the rest. At 91 points, D'Evelyn High School beats out the second-best high school in Colorado by 17.6 points.
Liberty Common Charter Ranked #2 in Colorado
Aside from D'Evelyn, the other top five high schools in the state of Colorado all have a graduation rate of 97 percent or higher. The second-best high school in the state of Colorado ranked 173rd nationally and is located right here in Northern Colorado.
